Feeling pretty accomplished today

Posted on Tuesday, October 30th, 2012

I got almost all the things I needed to get done on my to-do list. This includes: Photoshop comps for Intel Recommended Reading flow, Huawei email draft, helping out with Nephoscale email (not on my list but I knew I would need to), troubleshoot a data problem with a landing page, DailyStrength scheduling, Karen's YouTube video, fixed Analyst Solution bug, and got part 1A out of 4 parts of javascript homework done. Plus I worked out. Not bad for one day. I have to keep remembering that when I start something, even if it's a small start, it's easier to continue. If I put off even starting something, it's just that much harder to get that task done. Things that are still on the backburner: new Enableher design (finally got the wires drawn out, just need some design inspo), JCS mobile portion of the site, DbD new and improved theme, and wires for Design product. All things I can't wait to get started on, but there are still more important and more immediate things that always need to be done... Q and I are getting more into a routine, which I am very happy about too. Keeps things grounded, much more so than even just a few years ago. I keep comparing how I am now to how I used to be, which I think is normal. Maggie is her Maggie self, which I am thankful for every day. I had another idea of how I could improve design-wise... I was thinking I could look through the CommArts magazine I subscribed to and just try to imitate the styles I see/like in there and apply them in various ways (like the tips or menus I had thought of). It wouldn't be to show anyone, but really just to study the different styles out there and go through the process. It's something they were having us do in the graphic design class I was in, and at first I thought it was weird but in a way it was helpful. There really isn't enough time in a day to do all the things I want to do. Story of my life...
