Just bought a sewing machine

I got it from Wal-Mart in the mail, and it arrived SO FAST. What do I need a sewing machine for? The list goes on and on-- hemming jeans, hemming dresses made for tall people, taking IN a lot of my clothes :) making some of my old tops more interesting... so many things I can do... If only I knew how to use the thing... My first project will be to hem a pair of jeans but keep the original hem.
